Santa Monica Pier: Over 3 million visitors annually come from all over the world to enjoy the ocean breezes, spectacular coastline views, attractions, restaurants, rides, games and shops at Santa Monica Pier. This 50+ year old National Historical Landmark marks the end of famed Route 66 and is a favorite location of the entertainment industry, whose crews can often be seen filming here. Universal Studios Hollywood is the World’s Largest Movie Studio and Theme Park. Its vastly entertaining 45-minute backlot tram tour takes you through such classic set-pieces as "The Collapsing Bridge," "The Parting of the Red Sea" and "The Flash Flood," and you can still see the old Psycho house and ersatz New York City and Old Colonial streetscapes. Most Universal visitors though come for the sensory overload of thrill rides like "Terminator 2: 3D" and "Jurassic Park: The Ride," or to witness FX- heavy stuntman shows like the "Backdraft" and "Waterworld" spectacles. Enjoy a spectacular view as you take the short tram trip to The Getty Center, located atop the Santa Monica Mountains. Five two-story pavilions hold the museum's main collections, including paintings by van Gogh, Monet, Renoir and Cezanne, plus drawings by Michelangelo, da Vinci, Raphael and Rembrandt. Lloyd Wright, son of the famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, was asked to design a chapel that would give expression to the unique philosophy and theology of The Swedenborgian Church Lloyd Wright found himself in complete accord with the positive outlook of the Church and its emphasis on harmony between God's natural world and the inner world of mind and spirit. His vision of Wayfarers Chapel was a sacred site within a redwood forest.
