Try this site for general information on the South Bay. The South Bay is the area between the Malibu Mountains and Palos Verdes Peninsula. The South Bay includes the cities of El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Torrance.
No visit to Hermosa is complete without
a stop at Granny's Grocery & Deli. It's literally just around the corner at
Monterey and & 7th Street. 310-372-6639. Sandwiches, salads, gourmet coffee,
muffins, ice creams, some grocery items and much more.
Local Breakfast:
If you are looking for
breakfast my favorite "fill the
tummy on Sunday's spot" is The Original House of Pancakes (not to be confused
with IHOP). Try the Apple Pancakes, this spot is usually busy on week-ends but
well worth the wait. The price is reasonable. It's located in Redondo Beach on
Pacific Coast Highway just past Palos Verdes Drive and Chez Melange Resto on the
left hand side.

Very popular local breakfast and lunch hangout with delicious sandwiches and
salads. Patio seating available.
You can walk down 4th street to Hermosa Ave and
turn left and you'll find more spots!
Local Lunch & Dinners: Quick food which is great!
Awesome relaxed spot on the beach everyday isGood Stuff
. Located
on the Strand in Hermosa. Try the Southwestern chicken salad. If it's a week-end
count on it being busy. The price is reasonable.
Looking for authentic homecooked Mexican. Try El Gringo, 2620
Hermosa Ave. 310-376-1381. All the soups are homemade, try the Xcholti soup.
Small place, no fuss, great food and prices.
Looking for Janapese food or sushi. Try RiceThings 2401
W.Artesia Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA. 310-214-2224. Small hole in the wall price
is great, food is so much better.
For Seafood grill with an Irish atmosphere try Fat Face Fenner's Fishshack, 53 Pier Ave in the Hermosa Pier Plaza.
If you like
burgers, you just gotta try Fat Burger in Manhattan Beach. Located at the corner
of PCH and Artesia in the shopping center. Tired after a long day at the beach -
Just order Pizza @ Ameci's 310--374-2245. Feel like good sushi, try Sushi Sei,
1040 Hermosa Ave 310-379-6900.
Great casual dining, BYOB:
Another relaxed, well priced and also bring your own wine spot
is Buona Vita, 439 Pier Ave, 310-379-7626. Once again my favorite dish is
Gnocchi but with the "Funghi di Bosco" (Mushroom based sauce) sauce. For a good
wine selection you can walk up to Vons from Buona Vita!
